A professional photographer and artist with over thirty years of experience, Janie Moltrup has captured some of the world's most intriguing images, from renowned political leaders to stunning landscapes.

She began her career as a freelance photojournalist for regional papers and as an assistant for other photographers. With the encouragement of previous employers, Janie opened Artistic Photography in the early 1980's.

In 1988, Janie became a staff photographer for the United States Senate, where she earned a reputation as an exquisite portrait photographer and visual documentarian of government activities.

Janie retired from Capitol Hill in 2004, but not from work. She relocated with her husband to Washington County Maryland.

In the inspiring country landscape (leaving the traffic of Washington behind), she designed a custom studio space and expanded her business into digital editing services. This enables Janie to provide photography on-site and the custom finishing services to meet client-specific needs. Janie specializes in commercial and fine art photography.

More recently, Janie started teaching workshops at her studio and on location to share lessons learned over her extensive career. Previous workshop titles include The Essentials of Studio Lighting and Understanding Your New Digital Camera.
